Two kolbars died and four others were injured as a result of falls from the mountainous border areas in the Hawraman region of Sarvabad, Kurdistan Province, and Sardasht, West Azerbaijan Province, while transporting goods on 28 March.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that five of the kolbars fell from the Tateh border heights in Hawraman, where kolbar Shoresh Shokri lost his life and four others were seriously injured.
Shokri, from the village of Almaneh in Marivan, Kurdistan Province, died of his injuries while being transported to medical facilities.
Some of the other for kolbars, from Marivan and Baneh, Kurdistan Province, were airlifted and others were taken by ambulance to medical centres in Kermanshah and Paveh, Kermanshah Province. The identities of the four injured kolbars remain unknown at the time of writing.
In a simultaneous incident, Aboubakr Makhouzifard, a kolbar from Mirabad in Sardasht County, lost his life after falling from the border heights of Dasht-e Vazineh in Sardasht.
