A Kurdish civilian named Farouq Qazi has been arrested on 19 April by security officers of the Ministry of Intelligence at his home in Kureh Darreh village of Kamyaran, Kurdistan province, and has been taken to an unknown location, sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

A source in Kamyaran told the KHRN that despite the passing of 12 days since Qazi’s arrest and his family’s repeated visits to the offices of the intelligence ministry in Kamyaran and Sanandaj, no information was given to the family on the situation and whereabouts of the 24-year-old.

“Security officers have made revealing of the information about Faruoq’s whereabouts and situation conditional upon the family’s cooperation with the intelligence ministry”, it added.
