Security forces detained two civilians named Amir Babouli and Taher Katani in the Laj village of Mahabad, West Azerbaijan province, on 16 July.

The civilians have been taken to an undisclosed location.

So far, no information has been obtained about the charges brought against these civilians.

According to the statistics collected by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), at least two Sunni clerics and 23 Kurdish civilians have been arrested by the forces of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence in the cities of Oshnavieh, Piranshahr, Mahabad, and Baneh.

Of these, two people have been released on bail in Baneh, but the fate of the other 23 remains unknown.
