Iranian security forces arrested Kurdish cultural activist Hezha Omidi in Malekshahi, Ilam province, on 21 May and took him to an undisclosed location.
Security forces arrested him without a warrant on one of the streets of Ilam.
The reason for the arrest of the activist and his whereabouts are still unknown.
Omidi, who holds a master’s degree in political science, was also detained for several days by security forces during the recent anti-government protests in Ilam.

Prisoner Vahid Vahdani was executed for drug-related offences in Birjand Central Prison in South Khorasan Province on 23 July. Vahdani, a 30-year-old man from Bojnurd, North Khorasan Province, had been arrested several years ago and sentenced to death for drug trafficking.
