Iranian border guards have opened fire on a group of kolbars on 16 April in the Shushami border area of Nowsud, Kermanshah province, injuring a kolbar named Touraj Karimi.

The wounded kolbar was taken to a hospital in Paveh, Kermanshah province, for treatment.

Karimi, 37, comes from the village of Shamshir in Paveh.

Last week, border forces had wounded at least six other kolbars in the Nowsud border areas of Kermanshah and Kurdistan provinces in the northwest.

According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), in March, at least one kolbar was killed and 11 kolbars were injured following shootings by Iranian border forces on the country’s western borders.
