A landmine explosion has severely injured a Kurdish young man named Belal Didehvar while he was returning from Sheikh Salleh border market in Salas-e Babajani, Kermanshah province, on 27 June.

The civilian was severely injured in the left ankle. He was taken to one of the medical centres in Kermanshah for treatment.

Every year, dozens of civilians in the border areas, especially in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, and Ilam, lose their lives or body parts as a result of the explosion of landmines left over from the Iran-Iraq war or the military offensive of the Islamic Republic on Kurdistan region during the 1980s.
