Voria Khosravi and Sahar Kazemi, two environmental activists who were detained earlier by security forces in Sanandaj, were temporarily released on bail in order to attend the funeral of their parents. Mahvash Amiri, the mother of Sahar Kazemi, was also released from the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Facility in the city of Sanandaj after an order for prohibition of prosecution was issued for her.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that, following the Voria Khosravi being arrested by security forces in Hassan Abad, Sanandaj, his mother suffered a heart attack and passed away in a hospital in Tehran a few days later.

Moreover, on the evening of Nov 23, 2018, Sahar Kazemi’s father died of a road accident in Sanandaj Mochesh Road. Consequently, a number of family members of the detainees gathered at the news headquarters of Sanandaj intelligence Office and asked for their release to attend the funeral ceremony. The two detained activists were temporarily released on bail. Moreover, Mahvash Amiri, the mother of Sahar Kazemi who had been summoned and arrested by Sanandaj Intelligence headquarters and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj on Thursday, November 15, was released as an order for prohibition of prosecution was issued for her.

On Thursday, Aug 9, 2018, Sanandaj security forces raided the house of Sahar Kazemi in Sanandaj and arrested this activist while inspecting the house and seizing some of her personal belongings before transferring her to the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Centre in the city of Sanandaj. After being interrogated, she was transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison.
