A worker, ‘Isaac Rouhi”, was sentenced to one year in prison by branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj on charges of “propaganda against the state”.
Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has obtained information that the verdict was served on this Kurdish worker after being summoned to the court on Aug 20, 2019. His hearing was held on August 10 without the presence of a lawyer at Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary court of Sanandaj, presided by Judge Saeedi.
Isaac Rouhi was arrested by security forces on May 1, 2019 when he was planning to attend the ceremony of World Labour Day in Sanandaj with his family. He was transferred to the Quarantine of Sanandaj Central Prison after being held for eight days at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj, He was finally released on a bail of 100 million Tomans after 33 days of detention.
