A man stabbed her own sister to death for honor killing in the border town of Sardasht near the Iraq border on 4 January, a reliable source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
The source said that the killed girl was 16-year old Aysheh (Shakila) Ebrahimpour, who had lived with her mother and brother after the death of her father.
Local sources reported that Aysheh’s brother had been furious after private photo of her sister had circulated in the community.
Her brother on Monday 4 January stabbed her to death with a kitchen knife at home while their mother had been away from the house.
