Sima Moradi from Salmas was sentenced to nine months in prison on charges of membership in one of the Kurdish parties.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that this Kurdish civilian was arrested by security forces in Salmas late last fall and transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison.

She was interrogated for 48 hours at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Orumiyeh. She was later temporarily released on bail, but she was sentenced to 9 months of imprisonment a few months later for membership in one of the Kurdish parties opposing the Islamic Republic of Iran by Salmas Revolutionary Court.

Upon finalisation of the verdict against her, Moradi was arrested early this month and transferred to the Women Ward of the Khoy Prison to serve her 9 months term.
