Iran has released Kurdish female civil rights activist Asrin Mohammadi, who was detained during the recent mass arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists, on bail on 18 February.

Asrin Mohammadi, who was detained in Tehran on the first day of the wave of arrests on 9 January, was released on a bail of 100 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 3850 USD – from Orumiyeh Central Prison, sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Centre.

Mohammadi had been transferred from detention centre of the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to women’s ward of Orumiyeh Central Prison on 16 February, after her interrogation period had ended.

Among the detained female activists, Asrin Mohammadi and Darya Talebani have so far been released on bail, while Azimeh Naseri is still being held in the women’s ward of Orumiyeh Central Prison with a temporary detention order. Meanwhile, no information has yet been obtained about Rozhin Mohammadpour, Fariba Ahmadi, and Roya Jalali.

KHRN’s sources in Orumiyeh have pointed out that at least three women from Orumiyeh were being held in the detention centre of the Intelligence Organisation of the IRGC at Al-Mahdi base in Orumiyeh. The identities of the three women have not yet been determined.
