At least two prisoners sentenced to death named Amir Ojaghi and Heidar Hibozadeh were transferred to solitary confinement in Yazd Central Prison on 19 July for the execution of their sentences.
Ojaghi, who comes from Kermanshah, western Iran, was arrested about 10 years ago on drug-related charges and was sentenced to death.
Hibozadeh, from Zahedan, southwestern Iran, was arrested about five years ago on murder-related charges and was sentenced to “retribution in kind” (qisas).
