Detained civil rights activist Mehdi Erfani is still being kept without the right to legal counsel and family visits in the Shahramfar detention facility of the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.
Erfani was beaten and arrested by IRGC intelligence agents at his home in Qorveh, Kurdistan province, on 15 April.
After arresting the civilian, security forces searched his house and confiscated some of his personal belongings, including his mobile phone, laptop, books and notes, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
As of yet, there is no information on the reason for Erfani’s arrest or the charges brought against him.
