Iranian border guards in Kermanshah Province opened fire on a group of kolbars in the Nowsud border area this morning, killing one kolbar and wounding six others, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

Kolbar Ayoub Mohammadi died of his injuries after being taken to Quds Hospital in Paveh, Kermanshah Province.

Mohammadi was a 29-year-old father of one child from the village of Kugah in Salas-e Babajani, Kermanshah Province, and lived in Javanrud, Kermanshah Province.

The KHRN has learned that the border guards fired at the kolbars from close range and without warning.

The identities of five of the injured kolbars have been confirmed as Masih Moradi, Ayoub Moradi, Mehran Abdi, Mehdi Besharati, and Peyman Veysi.
