Mojgan Kavoosi, a Kurdish writer and cultural activist of Kelardasht, remains detained for further interrogation following a temporary arrest warrant issued by the Intelligence Unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Sari, a local source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Kavoosi was arrested on 18 November by the Intelligence Department of IRGC at her home in Noshahr of Mazandaran Province. Ever since, she has been allowed to make only two short phone calls to her family.

In response to the enquiries made to the Sari judiciary, Kabvoosi’s family have been told that her case is under investigation. Security forces also raided her house for a second time on 1 December, and seized some of her personal belongings, including her laptop and handwritten materials, as well as the cell phones of her and her family members.

Kavoosi was arrested for her articles about protests across Iran and Kurdistan.

Mojgan Kavoosi, a graduate of fine arts, is a Kurdish citizen from north of Iran who has produced two documentary films, Hiwa and Wind, in recent years.
