“A special unit from Boukan Intelligence Office raided the house of Kurdish activist Ismaiel Gorgi and immediately arrested him at his home on 9 December. He has since disappeared,” a human rights activist told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
According to the source, neither his whereabout nor the reason of his arrest has yet been disclosed, although he has disappeared for over a week now.
Ismaiel Gorgi is a former political prisoner who was rearrested in 2008 and sentenced to 18 months in prison on charges of “acting against national security”.
He was released after he had served his 18 months sentence.
