As part of Iran’s systematic targeting of kolbars, border guards killed a man and injured two others today after opening fire on a group of kolbars in the Nowsud border area in Kermanshah province, western Iran.

The border forces shot at the kolbars from a close range and without prior warning, killing a kolbar identified as Esmaeil Abdi and wounding two others named Mokhtar Fattahi and Hamid Ahmadi.

Abdi’s body was taken to the Department of Forensic Medicine in Paveh, Kermanshah province, and has not yet been handed over to his family.

Abdi, 32, came from the Bazian village in Javanrud, Kermanshah province.

The injured kolbars were transferred to medical centres in Paveh and Kermanshah for treatment.
