In the past month, at least 12 religious activists from Bukan have been detained by security forces and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Orumiyeh.

An informed source in Bukan confirmed the news to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) while stating that “In the past month, following a new wave of arrests of religious activists in Bukan, at least 12 people including several clerics have been detained by security forces affiliated with the Intelligence Bureau.”

The source confirmed the identities of the five detainees as Ismail Hossein Parvari, Taher Sheikhi, Mamosta Amanj (Amirabad village), Amir Zakalab, and Mamosta Fayeq Shariatpanah (Friday prayer leader of Hajiabad village).

According to the source, these people were transferred to the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence in Orumiyeh and have been deprived of the right to contact and visit their families.
