According to statistics collected by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), at least 30 Kurdish Civilians and activists have been detained by security forces in the cities of Kamyaran, Sanandaj, Orumiyeh, Kermanshah, Marivan, Javanroud, Naqadeh, Oshnavieh (Shno in Kurdish), Bukan, Piranshahr, Sardasht in the provinces of Kermanshah, Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan. Of these, four have been sent to prison to serve their sentences, and another 26 have been detained by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Ministry of Intelligence agents and subsequently transferred to custody centres of the two security institutions.

Although four of them have been released on bail so far, most of the detainees remain in custody and in many cases have not yet been able to contact their families.

A Kurdish political prisoner ‘Shakir Behrouz’ was sentenced to death in Orumiyeh on charges of “Baqi” [through membership in the Kurdistan Freedom Party] and the application for the retrial of Haidar Ghorbani, a political prisoner sentenced to death, was rejected by the Supreme Court. Moreover, the death sentence for Alipour Hooshmand was upheld by the Supreme Court and he was retried at the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court.
