‘On Tuesday, November 11th, five civilians of the village of “Zardui” in Paveh (Kermanshah province) named Belal Babaei, Behnam Veisi, Yaser Heidari, Ahmad Biabani and Simko Mahmoudi were arrested after being telephone summoned by the Intelligence Unit of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Paveh’, an informed source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Only Simko Heydari has been released on bail and four other civilians are still in custody.

The arrests followed after a conflict between residents of Zardui village and police and IRGC in protest to confiscation of the goods of border traders.

On November 6, following the chase of the vehicles of a number of border traders by the police and the IRGC in the village of “Zardui” in the Bayangan district of Kermanshah province and the efforts of these forces to seize the traders’ car, the village witnessed clashes between the border guards villagers who reacted to this incident and fired at them.
