Kurdish civilians Farzad Sadeghian and Sirwan Arghavani have been imprisoned on 16 August to serve six months in Sanandaj Central Prison.

On 14 July 2018, security forces arrested the two civilians, along with another civilian named Amir Rezaei, after summoning them to the Ministry of Intelligence in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.

The civilians from Tangi Sar village of Sanandaj were then released on a bail of 500 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 20,000 USD – after 40 days of detention.

Later, Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj sentenced them to one year in prison on “collaborating with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI)”.

After the defendants’ appeal, the Court of Appeals of Sanandaj commuted their sentences to six months in prison.
