Kurdish civilian Ali Zolfi was sent to prison yesterday in Bukan, West Azerbaijan province, to serve a sentence of four months and 10 days in jail.

In July, Branch 101 of the Criminal Court of Bukan sentenced Zolfi on charges of “propaganda against the state”.

On 19 January, security forces arrested the Kurdish civilian at his hometown Bukan.

They then transferred him to the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province.

After his interrogation, Zolfi was first imprisoned in Bukan Prison.

On 21 February, he was temporarily released from prison with a bail of 200 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 8,000 USD.
