‘on the evening of Saturday, November 7, a Kurdish border porter–known as Kolbar- named ‘Saber Khezri’  was injured following a landmines Explosion In the border mountain of “Mirgeh Drijan” Piranshahr in West Azerbaijan province’, a local sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

The 28-year-old Kolbar, from the village of Kohnekhan in Piranshahr, was taken to a hospital in the Kurdistan Region after the incident which resulted in the amputation of one of his ankles.

According to statistics compiled by the KHRN, 12 border porters and traders have their life during the past year due to accidents such as falling from the height, frosts, avalanches frosts, road accidents as a result of pursuit by police and also remaining landmines from the eight-year Iran-Iraq war.
