Iranian border guards have opened fire on a group of kolbars and killed a young man named Mohammad Khodaei near the Kani Seif village of Baneh, Kurdistan province, at 2100 local time on 4 November.

The forces shot the kolbar from a close range without prior warning, hitting him in the head and leg.

The kolbar’s body was taken to the morgue of Salahuddin Ayoubi Hospital in Baneh and has not yet been returned to his family.

Mohammad Khodaei, 29, was from the village of Kani Seif and was a resident of Baneh.

According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), in October, Iranian border guards shot two kolbars in border areas of provinces of West Azerbaijan and Kurdistan, killing one and injuring another.

Also, three kolbars lost their lives due to a car accident in the Hawraman border areas in October.
