Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have killed a kolbar named Fahmin Rostamzadeh and injured another on 23 June in the Tah Tah mountain pass in Hawraman region in Sarvabad, Kurdistan province.

The IRGC forces opened fire on a group of kolbars at 04:00 local time as a result of which the two kolbars were shot, a source in Hawraman told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

They targeted the kolbars “from a close range and without prior warning”, it said.

“Fahmin Rostamzadeh was not carrying any goods and the bullet hit his pelvis. After the kolbar was wounded, the IRGC forces did not allow the other kolbars to go and save him, and unfortunately, the kolbar died of severe bleeding after being taken to Marivan Hospital.”

Fahmin Rostamzadeh was 40 years old and the father of three children. He was from the city of Uraman Takht and a resident of Marivan, Kurdistan province.

He was a seasonal worker, but would sometimes – having no other option – work as a kolbar in the Tah Tah mountain pass in Hawraman.
