During the past week, two kurdish Kolbars were shot and wounded in the border areas of Sardasht by the Regimental Border Guards and the Revolutionary Guards.
According to a report received by Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), on the afternoon of Saturday, Sept 23, 2017, the Iranian border guards opened fire on a group of Kolbars near the village of Bitoush in Sardasht. In this incident, one of the kolbars called Khadr Sepandar (son of Ahmad and resident of ” Khri Agha Lan village) was shot in the leg.
The wounded Kolbar was transferred to a hospital in Orumiyeh due to the severity of injuries and he was discharged from the hospital after 5 days of admission and surgery.
Also, on Saturday, Sept 30, 2017, the Revolutionary Guards forces in the “Dasht Vazni” of Mirabad Sardasht targeted a number of kolbars, which resulted in the injury of a kolbar called “Siamand Rastguo”, son of Loghman and resident of Mirabad. He was transferred to a hospital in Orumiyeh for treatment.
According to data collected by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, the city of Sardasht was the deadliest region of Kurdistan with 18 cases of death and injury among Kolbars in 2016. The number of Kolbars losing their lives is increasing every year due to the failure of the Iranian government to prosecute armed forces committing these murders.
